Fair Work Commission

The Commission’s timeliness benchmarks are intended to set tight performance goals; to an extent they are aspirational. We expect that there will be circumstances where the Commission cannot meet these goals for a variety of reasons, for example, dependent on the complexity of the application. The timeliness benchmarks are as follows.

Applications that are compliant at lodgment and can be approved without undertakings

• 50% to be finalised within 3 weeks
• 100% to be finalised within 8 weeks

Applications that require undertakings or cannot be approved, including contested applications and applications requiring a hearing

• 50% to be finalised within 10 weeks
• 100% to be finalised within 16 weeks

If your application was lodged before  , you can check the status of your agreement by emailing the Commission's Agreements team at agreementsprogressenquiry@fwc.gov.au.

Please include your name, matter number and the name of the agreement. A member of the team should contact you within 2 business days.

Persons wishing to be heard in any matter listed below should contact the Commission within 7 business days from the date the application was lodged, and the matter may be listed for an attendance hearing. Contact the Commission by email at member.assist@fwc.gov.au.

If no person contacts the Commission wishing to be heard, the application may be approved or refused no earlier than 7 business days from the date the application was lodged.

The list of applications displays the matter number, name of the applicant, title of the agreement, industry, date the application was lodged, whether the application is to approve or vary an agreement, and the status of the application.

For applications not yet finalised, the agreement or variation can be accessed through the links below. These redacted documents are usually published within 3 working days of lodgment.

The status column provides information regarding the progress of the application as follows:

• Initial assessment: the Agreements team is reviewing the application and will perform an initial assessment for the Commission Member to consider
• Member consideration: a Commission Member is considering the application

You can search the list of applications by matter number, applicant, industry, application type and status using the fields provided (industry is based on the Commission's official List of industries). The table can also be sorted by clicking on the relevant column heading.

Once an application has been approved or refused it will no longer appear on the list below. To find an agreement that has been approved or varied, please go to Find an agreement.
